Common Questions About Getting Started
So you found a class you want to take, and you're interested in signing up, but you still have a few questions. Below are our most common questions and answers about registering in classes.
What happens if we miss a class?
Oops! You missed a class. It happens to the best of us. Maybe it was due to car trouble or illness, but you just weren't able to make it in to your lesson. What do you do now? Don't panic! The Looking Glass offers make-up classes up to six weeks after a missed class. The following week after a missed class, you can ask your teacher when the best time would be for a make-up class. Make-up classes allow you to get your money's worth when you miss. Make-ups are also available for classes missed when the studio is closed for holidays.
Can we try a class out first?
Unfortunately, we don't currently offer trial classes. We allow do allow potential students to observe a class on our observation deck as many times as they want to see if a class is right for them. To begin classes, we require a registration fee and the first months tuition be payed. However, we do understand that situations change. If you sign up for a class and things don't go as you planned, we are more than happy to give you a refund, or put your tuition towards a different class.
When can i enroll?
Enrollment is always open. Just check out our list of open classes or call to find one that you'd like to take. Please note that during preparation for performances, some classes will we temporarily closed for enrollment. We have classes that do not perform, however, that remain open regardless of seasonal performances.
Do you offer gymnastics too?
Sorry, no. Nothing against gymnastics, we just don't have the facilities to conduct gymnastics classes. We do, however, offer dance, acting, singing and music classes if you were interested in that. Sadly, dance is not recognized as an Olympic sport (It really should be. If figure skating is, then why not dance?), but we think it's still pretty great.
how old do you have to be to take classes?
We start our regular classes at age six. However, we offer a program for younger dancers called Kinder-Theater that starts at age three. Our class age ranges are as follows:
- 3-5 (Kinder-Theater only)
Please note that currently, the only classes offered for adults are for Tap.
