Our class picture procedure will look a little different this year. We will be taking the pictures at the Theatre on Thursday, June 25th, before the performance weekend.
Class/Group pictures is not a requirement for you to attend
If you do not plan to attend the picture day, please notify the teacher as soon as you decide not to attend.
We will have a schedule for that evening of the times and order in which the pictures will be taken.
Students must arrive in costume with full hair and any make up they are wearing for the performance.
One parent/guardian will be allowed to accompany each student and will sit quietly in the audience while they wait for their turn.
Once your student has completed all of their class photos they are free to leave. (Each photo should take no longer than 5-10 minutes to take)
If your student has multiple routines and does NOT have a quick change in the performance, the parent who accompanied them will change them back stage in the restrooms.
If your student DOES have a quick change in the performance you the parent is NOT volunteering in the quick change area, we will have our quick change volunteers change their costume. This will allow for the volunteers to get the extra practice and know the students prior to the dress rehearsal, and will allow the students to feel more comfortable with the change.
If the parent wants to be backstage to watch the quick change you may do so during the picture day. We just ask that you allow the volunteers to do their work and that you do not get in their way.
Performance Dates and Times:
Dress Rehearsal
Friday June 26th: Held at Redlands East Valley High School - 31000 E Colton Ave, Redlands, CA 92374
Students MUST be already in costume and with their hair done when they arrive ready to perform. Makeup is not required for Kinder-Theatre students, however a little blush, mascara, and lipstick goes a long way. Please do NOT have them wear their dance shoes outside of the theatre. They will only need the dance shoes that correlate with the dance they are performing.
NO snacks or beverages will be allowed back stage besides water.
This will be a CLOSED rehearsal, meaning NO ONE except teachers and Studio STAFF will be allowed in the audience. Volunteers MUST remain at their posts backstage.
Student entrance and check-in will be on the East side of the Theatre. See picture below.
Kinder-Theatre Call time is 4pm. Students will be released by 6pm, once everyone has done their dance and once all teachers state that they do not need to practice again. Students will stay backstage for this rehearsal. If you are volunteering, we suggest you use this dress rehearsal for yourself as well and be backstage with your student.
Call time for remaining students is 5:30pm. Students will be required to stay until dress rehearsal is over and will be staying back stage. If you are a volunteering to work backstage for any of the performances we recommend volunteering backstage for dress rehearsal. If you are not volunteering backstage you will drop your student off and then pick them up once dress rehearsal is over. Students MUST come ALREADY in their costume WITH hair and makeup done. We will do our best to get the performers out as soon as possible. We are hoping for no later than 9:30pm.
Below is an overview of the Theatre. The RED arrows show you how to get to the drop-off and the BLUE STAR is where they will be dropped off. The BLACK arrows show where to park to watch the performance and enter the theatre and the ORANGE STAR is the entrance to the theatre.

What you have committed and agreed to:
That my student(s) are REQUIRED to be at ALL performances set forth by the studio. If my student(s) does not show up for a performance, I understand I will be charged $50. (Extenuating circumstances not included)
That I am required to pay for each of my students' costumes which I will be able to keep at the end of the performance.
That my student must try on each costume as soon as I receive it and if my student(s) costume(s) do not fit correctly, I will advise the studio immediately so that we can replace it. (Cut off for costume replacement(s) is May 31st.)
That my student(s) are REQUIRED to be at the dress rehearsal, in costume, and must stay until released.
That my student(s) is REQUIRED to stay backstage for the entire show and may not leave until they have completed their final bow and my student(s) is dismissed.
That unless I am volunteering to work backstage, I am to drop my student(s) off no later than call time, and pick them up once the performance is over. I am not to go backstage during intermission to check on my child, but must make sure they have everything they may need prior to dropping them off, and have communicated any special needs that my student(s) might have to the volunteers. This includes dress rehearsal.
That I am NOT to send my student(s) with any snacks or colored drinks and ONLY water is permitted backstage.
That I will ensure my student(s) eat(s) a good meal prior to call time so they do not need a snack while being backstage.
That I understand and have communicated with my student(s) that the use of electronics is not permitted back stage.
That my student should come with a spare pair of tights in case theirs rip.
That my student should come with their hair and makeup already done and have extra hair items in case it needs fixing.
That my student should arrive in their first costume and have any additional costumes neatly organized.
That dance shoes are NOT to be worn outside of the theatre or studio on concrete or grass and therefore I will bring my students dance shoes in a separate bag.
That if my student has multiple routines, I will check the running orders and notify the studio if there are any unreasonable quick changes. (Unreasonable is no numbers between. We do our best to catch them all but we do make mistakes and would rather fix them before the day of the performance).
That if my student does have any quick changes, I will practice with them at home and underdress any tights or costume pieces that I can.
That my student should bring a camping chair or blanket to possibly sit on backstage as there most older students will be stationed in the hallway. Kinder-Theatre students will have their own room and it is not necessary to bring camping chairs.
If my Kinder student brings any toys to play with backstage, they understand that they may get lost or shared with other students. Anything they don’t want to share or lose should be kept at home.
Tickets:
Tickets will be assigned seating and will be $25 each for the front Orchestra section closest to the stage, and $20 each in the back Upper section farther away from the stage.

Wheelchair/Handicap designated seating is limited and will be at the $20 price. While the Upper section is not a balcony, there are stairs and anyone who has trouble with stairs should purchase a ticket in the Orchestra section.

You can view the seating chart at both studio locations.
Other Important Details:
All students will be required to stay backstage for the ENTIRE show. Please remember that if you decide to not show up to a performance, there will be a fine charged to your account.
Classes are still open to students not performing in the show.
Volunteering Backstage:
We will need to know which performance(s) you are willing to work as well as which station you prefer. Please have a few station preferences as you may not be placed at your first choice station. Carrie Macias and Miss Lieren are running the backstage this year. There will also be a few dates available for you to come to a meeting to know what to expect and what the rules are for backstage.
If you do volunteer backstage, please remember that our actual backstage area gets pretty tight when students are in the wings waiting to go on. We will NOT be allowing you to stand in the wings this year to watch your student perform. Please make sure you allow yourself to go sit in the audience and enjoy one of the performance.
Please also remember, volunteering backstage is not just about assisting your student or staying with them the entire time, but rather helping every student and assisting where you are needed. We do our best to allow you to stay with your student however there may be times where you are asked to assist in other ways.
While it is not a requirement to volunteer backstage, if you do not volunteer, you will NOT be permitted backstage for any rehearsal or performance that you are not volunteering for.
